TV show review- Arrow (season 1)

Hey guys! I haven’t written a review in a while, it kinda feels weird. And I shall try VERY hard to NOT plagiarise Screen Junkies’ Honest Trailers. Oh wait, they didn’t make a trailer yet for Arrow, so I guess I'm clear of copying charges.

Ahem, anyway.....

PLOT- Billionaire playboy Oliver Queen’s yacht is shipwrecked near an island in the Pacific. After being stranded there for five years and presumed dead by his home Starling City, he returns to Starling with ONE goal- to save his city; and hopefully reunite his girlfriend Laurel Lance, whose relationship he screwed over big time by cheating on her with her sister Sara. To make things worse, Sara was on the ship with Oliver, where she drowned.

Way to go dude, you're a real charmer.

Anyway, back to the MAIN plot. After returning to Starling, the city welcomes him back, well most of it (Laurel and her dad were not exactly thrilled when the guy who took Sara on the tragic trip with him returned safely). Little do any of them know that Oliver plans to clean Starling of the corrupt businessmen, thus fulfilling his father’s dying wish, as he was one of those corrupt businessmen. To do this he dons a green hood, wielding a bow and quiver full of arrows, he acts as a vigilante, serving up justice in a 45 minute show on CW.

The show also features Oliver’s adventures on the island, and how it changed him to the man he is today.

The actual review, in case you thought I was done

CW delivered on its promise of making a good TV show based a not so popular DC comics’ character. Arrow is both gritty and entertaining. To people who don’t want to waste their time watching a superhero TV show, let me tell you, it’s NOT what you think. In season 1, there is absolutely NOTHING supernatural in this show (hey! Another CW show!). Unlike batman, all his stuff is pretty much affordable, (except those explosive arrows. That must've been expensive). But even then, it’s probably cheaper than 682 million, which is pretty much batman’s expenditure, as told by 9gag.

Seriously . Look it up.

So what I'm trying to say is, this show is realistic as well, he fights a bunch of drug lords, crime lords and also iconic villains from the comics like Deadshot, The Huntress, Count Vertigo, The  Dark Archer, only to name a few.

One thing I love about him is that he doesn’t hesitate to kill. The five years on the island made him a brutal killing machine. Yet, despite that, he does hold back, giving the dishonest a chance to turn themselves in.

The show also describes his five years on the island effectively, as his teams up with characters like Shado and Slade Wilson (yes, you heard correct, Slade Wilson).

To sum it up, this was an awesome show. I'm on season 3 now, and I'm still not disappointed, almost. I would give this show a 9/10, which means...get your BUTT over to the computer NOW!

I’ll give you some useful advice- DON’T follow those Arrow fan pages. They will ruin the show for you. Only follow them once you’ve caught up with the rest of the world in matters of seasons and episodes.
